2019 Anaheim Shows Review

Anaheim, California was definitely the place to be on March 6th. Hundreds and thousands of people visited Los Angeles to attend two fantastic shows. Fresh Ideas Organic Marketplace, part of NPEW (Natural Products ExpoWest) and SCIFTS Supplier’s Night Expo were both extremely well attended, giving attendees the opportunity to taste and experience all the exciting new products and developments in the dietary supplement, nutraceutical, cosmetic and pet food industries. So what was new?

CBD

Following the 2018 Farm Bill which legalized the production of hemp differentiating it from other cannabis plants, CBD oil was very popular at the shows. It was combined with trending nutraceutical ingredients into a huge variety of innovative products including teas, infused dietary supplements for humans and pets, gummies, coffee, chocolate, softgels and hydrating beverages.

Plant-based Meats

There was an explosion of plant-based product offerings at both shows. Not surprising, given the fact that in the last 12 months alone, plant-based food sales have skyrocketed 17%, according to a recent GFI report. Plant-based meat exhibitor booths such as Beyond Meat, Field Roast, Gardein and Quorn were packed with attendees lined up for samples of delicious plant-based burgers and other appetizers.

Plant-based Milks & Protein

Plant-based milks are a booming $1.8 billion market which is expected to continue to grow. Trending ingredients such as Cacao, Maca, Matcha, Turmeric, and tropical fruit like Banana and Mango as well as mixed berries such as Strawberry, Acai and Blueberry were combined with Oat, Coconut, Hemp and other milks to produce delicious ice creams, protein drinks, smoothies, creamers and probiotic beverages.

NP Nutra’s booths were busy with a constant buzz of attendees, sampling and asking questions about our NutraSprout line of 6 premium organic sprouted powders (Adzuki, Barley, Broccoli, Green peas, Lentil and Radish) and all our other innovative product offerings. Especially popular were our plant protein ingredients such as Chia, Hemp, NutraProtein Power Blend®, Pea and Sacha Inchi and our signature ingredient blends Green Balance Alkalizing Blend® and BettaBerries® Antioxidant Blend, AcaiVida®, MaquiForza™ and NutraGrass™.

All in all, NP Nutra® was proud to be among the 100,000 visitors to Los Angeles from 136 countries, all working together for positive change in our industry.
