Green Banana (Musa paradisiaca) is the unripe form of the banana fruit, harvested before its sugars develop. Native to Southeast Asia, it is now widely grown in tropical regions around the world. Green bananas are firm and starchy, with a mild flavor and pale green skin that gradually turns yellow as they ripen.

Green bananas are a natural source of resistant starch, a prebiotic fiber that resists digestion in the small intestine and ferments in the large intestine, where it feeds beneficial gut bacteria.
